Exactuals Head of Music Product Chris McMurtry spoke at the premiere iteration of City National Bank’s (CNB) event series, titled “Innovation at CNB: DemystifyingArtificial Intelligence.” The event, co-hosted by CNB Women in Technology, invited members of the CNB community to learn about the latest developments in tech and how it can positively influence their businesses.
The luncheon-style panel event was moderated by Patrick Liu, VP, Innovation Lead at CNB, and featured McMurtry alongside Nicholas Guerrero, Data Management Officer, CCAR at CNB; Surrender Singh of Observe.ai; and Lulu Yang, Model Developer, CLC Analytics Team at CNB. The panelists shared their thoughts on the opportunities, challenges, and risks of AI in the financial services industry, and the ways that CNB was already integrating tech into regular business processes. McMurtry discussed the use of AI in banking and how its application could encourage positive results for CNB customers and executives alike. Engagement from those in the audience during the Q&A session was riveting, and drove the conversation forward into the open networking event that followed.

Before joining ACSIA, he worked in investment banking, including having served as a Managing Director for both ICP Securities and Sandler O’Neill & Partners, where he and his team devised business solutions for large banks and financial institutions throughout the world. Mauritzen currently serves as a director for Veristone Capital, ioCurrents, and Agent Review.
